Yep, you did read that right! We are beyond excited to announce that Hannah Baldwin is joining our team. Over the last year, we have seen such growth in our strategic, research, coaching and training side that Hannah has joined us today as Director of Marketing Success to help support me in this area.
I've personally known Hannah for around 15 years. When Hannah left ProQuest in 2007, I took her role! But then, that is our industry - incestuous. Since then, Hannah has worked for Cambridge University Press & Assessment (CUP), the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and, most recently, the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC). Let's find out more about Hannah in her own words.
Do you want to start off by telling our readers a bit about yourself and your professional background?
I’ve been working in marketing roles forever, and started my publishing career over 20 years ago at ProQuest, as Strategic Marketing Manager for the Chadwyck-Healey portfolio, which
gave me a thorough grounding in digital products and technologies in both academic markets and the public and corporate library sectors.
I then spent seven years at Cambridge University Press working mainly on ebooks, and then moved into the world of professional societies, with senior marketing roles at both the IET and the Royal Society of Chemistry.
Publishing has provided me with many lasting friendships, both in and outside work, as well as unforgettable experiences too numerous to list!
I am a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and also a mentor, trainer and committee member for ALPSP and a mentor for the CIM.
I’m also Chair of the Board of Trustees of Jimmy’s Cambridge, supporting the homeless
community, and Non-Executive Digital Director for the British Grooms and Equestrian
Employers Association.
What excites you the most about your move to The International Bunch?
The thing I have always valued most about my career in publishing is being at the heart of the vibrant, ever-changing, mostly fun and always challenging information industry.
I’ve worked with Lou and the team for several years (and have known Lou for many more!) and have always been impressed by not just the level of knowledge and professionalism but also their hands-on, friendly and collaborative approach. The opportunity to join The International Bunch is really exciting for me – I’m thrilled to be able to be part of such a strong, supportive and engaging team at an exciting time for the organisation and am really looking forward to getting stuck in and working with colleagues across the industry.
Finally, outside of your working life, how do you like to spend your time?
Outside work, I am an enthusiastic, if not very accomplished, cook, a voracious reader,
adore all things horses, love DIY, being on Cornish beaches and spending as much time with my dogs as possible.
